The Empty Backpack

"The Empty Backpack" is our latest addition to the store. Earlier this year, we teamed up with one of our prolific Spike's Pack members to take Jimmy's motto "Empty Your Backpack" to a new level. We are introducing The Empty Backpack - our latest addition to the store and possibly one of the most personally impactful items yet. After a former teammate of Jimmy's decided to go back to school, we couldn't let him carry just any backpack. This one features special touches that symbolize discreet and potent ways, the sacrifices made during their service and will hopefully encourage each individual that holds one to empty their backpack. Each bag is numbered, and includes a Neruda poem. This particular poem is special because Jimmy wrote it on the side of Spike's kennel after he passed.

We all struggle with mental health, and some of us think we have to battle this alone. Here's your reminder to reach out to a friend, a former teammate, or just an old classmate and make sure they empty their backpack, and they don't have to carry it alone.

Specs:

• External: 500D Cordura, Solution Dyed, Wolf Gray
• Internal: 200D Nylon, Black
• Zippers: YKK Aquaguard Water resistant zipper chain, with Posi-lock zipper pulls
• All materials, except for the molded side handle, are Made in the USA/Berry Compliant.
• The purpose-built pocket arrangement provides electronics, books, writing implements, and other small daily-carry items.
• The top pocket is fleece-lined to protect electronics, glasses, etc., from scratches.
• Side water bottle pocket zips closed for a flat, sleek appearance when not in use. This compartment utilizes Tweave Stretch Woven fabric in Multicam pattern for a "splash" of camouflage.
• Backpack straps tuck out of the way into the back panel for briefcase-style carry or snag-free stowing under seats, in overhead bins, etc.
• Dual-layer foam back panel design creates an air channel for comfort.
